Milled: Lithium Disilicate Rehab
Material selection is a critical factor in any case, but it becomes even more important when retreating teeth that were aggressively prepped. While beautiful final aesthetics are always the goal, functional demands and the patient’s clinical history must also inform our decisions. In this case, lithium silicate was chosen and used in a monolithic form, milled and stained without cutback or layering, yet still delivered an esthetic result. In cases like this, ingot selection plays a pivotal role in achieving success.

Managing Color
One of the most challenging aspects of a case like this is achieving consistent color optics when porcelain thickness varies significantly. This case outlines how to manage minimal-prep veneers adjacent to aggressively prepped teeth while still achieving a seamless color match. Close collaboration with the lab to create a color-corrective core is essential to success.
